Adrianna
I’ve taught IB MYP Mathematics for six years, working mainly with students who find algebra and functions difficult at first. I like lessons to be practical: we usually look at one idea, work through a couple of examples together, then move onto unfamiliar problems. I’m particularly interested in probability and mathematical modelling, and I also help students prepare properly for MYP eAssessments.

Marco
Hi! I’m an IB MYP Biology tutor and former lab assistant who still gets far too interested in anything involving cells and genetics. I’ve been tutoring for four years, mostly online. My sessions usually involve diagrams, short questions and plenty of discussion rather than reading through slides. I also spend time showing students how to write scientific explanations that actually answer what the question is asking.

Bryson
I have eight years of experience teaching IB MYP English Language and Literature, both in the classroom and privately. Much of my work is with students who understand a text well but struggle to put their interpretation into writing. We practise close reading, paragraph structure and evidence selection. I particularly enjoy teaching poetry because it gives students plenty of room to develop their own interpretation.

Jordyn
Chemistry made much more sense to me once I stopped treating it as a collection of facts to memorise, and that is how I teach it now. I tutor IB MYP students online, covering topics from atomic structure to bonding and reaction calculations. I normally ask students to talk me through their reasoning before we touch the answer. I’ve taught for five years and have also worked in an analytical chemistry laboratory.

Amy
I’m a Physics graduate with nine years of teaching experience and have spent the last five focusing on IB MYP Physics. Forces, electricity and energy are the areas I teach most often. My lessons combine explanation with calculations and small real-world examples, as students usually understand the equations better once they can picture what is happening. I also work regularly with students preparing for MYP assessments.

Colton
My background is in History, and I’ve been teaching IB MYP Individuals and Societies for seven years. I’m quite particular about source analysis because students often know the history but lose marks by describing a source instead of evaluating it. Lessons usually involve short extracts, maps or primary sources rather than long lectures. Modern European history is my favourite area, especially the social changes of the twentieth century.

Cody
I teach IB MYP Physics and previously worked in engineering before moving into education. I’m quite practical in lessons: if we’re covering circuits, pressure or motion, I’ll usually start with an everyday situation and make the student predict the result. I’ve taught MYP for over eight years and know the criterion-based assessments well, particularly the investigation and data-analysis sections students often find unfamiliar.

Samuel
Hi! I’ve spent the last five years tutoring IB MYP English, mostly with students who dislike being told there is only one “correct” interpretation of a text. I enjoy poetry and short stories because there’s plenty to argue about in a small amount of writing. Sessions are usually conversational at first, then we turn those ideas into focused paragraphs and practise using quotations without letting them take over the response.
